Shed 10

Venue

Shed 10

Location

Auckland

Street Eats is a food and live music festival staged inside Shed 10 on the Auckland waterfront, a multi-level heritage industrial space. Electric Boogie delivered the audio, lighting and staging in collaboration with Lemongrass Productions, building the technical elements that turn a working heritage shed into a room people want to stay in.

The brief was to make the building itself part of the show. We treated Shed 10 as the fixture: lighting, staging and a live music PA working together so the bare industrial structure carries the festival across its levels.

Challenge

Shed 10 is a multi-level heritage industrial space on the Auckland waterfront, not a purpose-built venue. The structure had to carry a food and live music festival and hold up across every level, with the building's own bones doing the work rather than fighting them.

Engineering response

Working alongside Lemongrass Productions, we delivered the technical package end to end: live music audio, a lighting design that lights the shed across its levels, and staging built into the heritage footprint. The crew who designed the lighting and staging plot ran it on the night, so the rig that lit the architecture was the rig we knew from load-in to pack-out.

Outcome

A heritage industrial shed set up as the room for a food and live music festival. The lighting works the structure across its levels, turning the building into the backdrop for the food, the artists and the crowd.
